Replatforming involves making minor cloud-focused optimisations to an application without altering its core architecture. Common examples include migrating a self-managed database on EC2 to AWS RDS or replacing file storage with AWS S3. It balances migration speed with immediate operational efficiency and reduced maintenance overhead.
